"The story of island folk who gave their lives serving in the World Wars of 1914-18 and 1939-45, together with other casualties of war for whom this beautiful island became a final resting place."
The author carried out extensive research concerning all those who are recorded on the Colonsay War Memorial and also those whose remains were recovered and laid to rest in the island. The book was produced in a limited edition of 200 copies and contains a full list of the Subscribers who made it possible. Copies are, of course, deposited with the Copyright Libraries and therefore, thanks to Alan Davis and all who assisted, Colonsay can truly say that "We will remember them".
Most of the edition was required to satisfy local demand, but the remaining copies are now available to the wider world. This will become a family heirloom for anyone connected with those who are commemorated within the book. The paperback edition is out of print (10 April 2018) and there are only two or three remaining hardback copies available.
